ID Released For Victim Of Fatal Suffolk County House Fire

Police have identified a Long Island man who was died during a fire at his residence.

Frank Holecek, age 71, of Mildred Place, in Hampton Bays, died during the fire which started around 9:49 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, in Hampton Bays, said Southampton Police Lt. Susan Ralph.

When firefighters arrived on the scene at Mildred Place, they found black smoke coming from the windows of the residence, and by the time police arrived on the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames, Ralph said. 

Holecek was the only person inside the residence and had been pulled from the second floor by Hampton Bays Fire Department. 

The fire is being investigated by the Suffolk County Police Arson Squad.
